4x800 Meter Relay
Berkeley Springs took the early lead, but after that it was all Winfield. Lisa Day
closed out the win with a high 2:21 anchor leg. Berkeley Springs just barely held off
Weir and Carly Gregson's 2:21 anchor leg by 0.06 seconds for second. Frankfort
topped expectations with a 10:07 4th place finish. Roane ran 10:09 for 5th. Grafton
claimed the final spot.

Shot Put
PikeView's Lindsay Rumburg won the Shot Put title for the fourth time with her toss
of 40'4.75". That was over 3' further than anyone else and gave her the 6th Best All-Time
Class AA State Meet performance. Tyler Consolidated's Megan
Ratcliff was 2nd by over a foot. Winfield's
Bridget Harper was 3rd by over a
foot. Lincoln's Ally Riley was over 2' ahead of the rest of the field in taking 4th.
Oak Glen's Kylie Emfinger edged out Ritchie's Betsy Nelson for 5th.

Shuttle Hurdle Relay
Tyler Consolidated ran an exceptional 1:05.55, giving them the 2nd Best All-Time Class
AA Performance. Winfield's 1:06.27 gave them second place and the 7th Best All-Time
Class AA Performance. We were denied a chance to have three of the top 10 performances
when Lincoln was disqualfied. Weir edged Magnolia for 4th. Point Pleasant took 5th and
Independence took 6th.

Discus
Tyler Consolidated's Megan Ratcliff's toss of 125' let her end the weekend with the
9th Best All-Time State Meet Discus Throw regardless of class and the 2nd Best
All-Time Class AA State Meet Performance. Oak Glen's Jamie Woofter was nearly
9 feet back, but nearly two feet ahead of 3rd. Ritchie's Betsy Nelson finished
3rd, nearly 11' ahead of the remainder of the field. Webster's Kara Bachman beat
Oak Hill's Brittney Thomas by 1" for 4th. Oak Glen's Tiffany Clark was the
only other thrower over 100' in taking 6th.

Long Jump
Berkeley Springs' Meghan Mock took the title despite being quite new to the event.
She soared 17'1.25" to win by over a foot. Lincoln's Jenna Howell won a tight
battle for 2nd by 1/4" over Poca's Jordan Meadows and by 1" over Philip Barbour's
Marteny Jacobs. Winfield's Jessie Painter snagged 5th, and Independence's
Morgan Bryant was 6th. Weir's Leah Dankovchik also topped 15'.

3200 Meter Run
Berkeley Springs' Rachel Buser and Logan's Darby Mullen took the field out
fast, coming through in 1:11. After two laps, the pair had opened up a 10 second gap on
the field. After three laps, the lead had grown to 16 seconds. On the fourth lap, Buser
began to pull away from Mullen. Meanwhile, Ritchie's Jamie Cokeley closed up a three
second gap on the second pack and moved into fourth. Buser's lead continued to grow,
and by the end of lap five, Cokeley had moved into third, but was 18 seconds behind Mullen.
After six laps, the gap had shrunk to 12 seconds. After 7 laps, it had dropped to 6 seconds.
Cokeley made her customary surge on the backstretch and made the pass. She continued the
push to the finish to finish 2nd. Buser's time of 11:13.23 was the 9th Best All-Time
State Meet Performance regardless of class and the 4th Best All-Time Class AA
Performance. Mullen held on for 3rd. Winfield's Megan Truelove held 4th.
Berkeley Springs' Kari Mundey held on for 6th. Ritchie's Brittany Sellers closed
a 10 second gap on Winfield's Kasey Jividen and made the pass with a big last lap
to take 6th.

High Jump
Berkeley Springs' Meghan Mock and Sissonville's Sydney Cummings both cleared
5'6, but Mock took the win on the tie-breaker. Those performances will tie the pair as
the Best All-Time Class AA State Meet Performance. The pair will also share the
Class AA State Record. Roane's Morgan Cottrell
cleared 5'2 to take 3rd. No other jumpers in the field cleared 5'0. Seven jumpers cleared
4'10. Berkeley Springs' Amber Booher won the tie-breaker series to place 4th.
Magnolia's Micah Bell and Frankfort's Mariah Miller tied for 5th.

400 Meter Dash
Oak Glen's Jordan Mitchell sped to a State Record 57.48 in dominating the 400. It
will also rank as the 7th Best All-Time State Meet Performance. Tyler Consolidated's
Brianna Clark closed well to take a solid 2nd. Winfield's Lisa Day finished
in 3rd. Frankfort's Brooke Day was just faster than Bluefield's Sarah Hudak
for fourth, with Hudak running in the first heat. Ritchie's Cassie Bunner rounded
out the scoring.

1600 Meter Run
Berkeley Springs' Rachel Buser ran away with the 1600, winning by over 10 seconds.
Logan's Darby Mullen went out fast and held on for 2nd. Grafton's Katelyn Hunt
left the pack down the stretch to take 3rd. Berkeley Springs' Breanne Henry
passed a nearly stationary Jamie Cokeley of Ritchie just before the finish line
to snare 4th. Winfield's Kasey Jividen pulled away down the stretch for 6th.

Pole Vault
Ritchie's Kelli Sealover was the clear favorite and did not disappoint in winning
by a foot with her 10' vault. Roane's Ashli Knotts cleared 9'0 and was the only other
vaulter to go higher than 7'6. Magnolia's Amanda Howell took 3rd and Tyler
Consolidated's Shannon Reid took 4th with each clearing 7'6. Winfield teammates
Jessica Schwaner and Connie Beckett each cleared 7'0 to take the final two
spots. Only six vaulters cleared the opening height.

300 Meter Low Hurdles
Berkeley Springs' Meghan Mock powered down the stretch and pulled away to a 0.78
second win. Her time of 45.18 ended the day as the 6th Best All-Time State Meet
Performance regardless of class and the 2nd Best All-Time Class AA State Meet
Performance. Frankfort's Brooke Day also came in under 46 seconds in taking
second. Winfield's Micah Osborne finished 3rd, but joined the front two in running
exceptional times. Winfield's Morganne Bennett was over two seconds back in taking
4th. Roane's Ashli Knotts took 5th, while Weir's Johnna Drelick was the only
other runner under 50 seconds in taking 6th.

100 Meter High Hurdles
Lincoln's Jenna Howell was outstanding in running 15.18, giving her the 2nd Best
All-Time Class AA Performance. Frankfort's Brooke Day was an easy 2nd and
proved not to be phased by running her 3rd race of the day. Her time of 15.25 gave her
the 3rd Best All-Time Class AA Performance. Tyler Consolidated's Ashley Carson
was solidly in 3rd. Frankfort's Ashley Frankland edged Tyler Consolidated's Shannon
Reid by 0.03 and Independence's Morgan Bryant by 0.04 for 4th.

100 Meter Dash
Weir's Ayreal Thompson showed no signs of injury in pulling away for the win in
the 100 Meter Dash. She and Oak Glen's Jordan Mitchell ran away from the field.
Mitchell took 2nd, 0.13 behind Thompson. Magnolia's Kelsey Spang edged out
Lincoln's Kelly Akers for 3rd. Logan's Anitra Kelly edged Webster's
Jennifer Thayer for 5th.

4x200 Meter Relay
Weir was dominant, outdistancing the field by over a second. Their time of 1:46.46 will
rank as the 3rd Best All-Time Class AA State Meet Performance. Oak Glen was over
a second ahead of Ritchie for 2nd place. Tyler Consolidated held 4th. Frankfort beat
Winfield for 5th.

4x100 Meter Relay
Weir outdistanced the field again, taking the title in 50.82, which gives them the 6th
Best All-Time Class AA State Meet Performance. Tyler Consolidated was easily in 2nd.
Magnolia nipped Winfield by 0.03 for 3rd. Ritchie and Lincoln rounded out the placers.

800 Meter Run
Winfield's Lisa Day surged past Weir's Carly Gregson to take the win after a
strong surge by Gregson had taken the lead. Roane's Aliy Bossert held off a late
kick by Berkeley Springs' Meghan Mock. Oak Glen's Annah Cashdollar edged
Grafton's Katelyn Hunt by just 0.02 for 5th.

200 Meter Dash
Weir's Ayreal Thompson completed her day with a 200 title to go with her 100
title. Teammate Sharron Gianessi beat Tyler Consolidated's Brianna Clark
by less than 0.01 for 2nd. Winfield's Emily Stewart was easily 4th. Ritchie's
Cassie Bunner was solidly in 5th, with Bluefield's Sarah Hudak taking 6th.

4x400 Meter Relay
Oak Glen shattered the State Record by over 6 seconds, using legs of 62, 62, 60, and 58
to seal the deal. The time will also rank as the 3rd Best All-Time State Meet
Performance regardless of class. Weir's time of 4:06.77 also broke the existing
record and will give them the 2nd Best All-Time Class AA State Meet Performance.
Winfield was also outstanding in going under 4:09.95, which gives them the 7th Best
All-Time Class AA Performance. Frankfort was under 4:12 in finishing 4th. Magnolia
and Grafton rounded out the scoring for the meet. The team race came down to this event
with Weir and Winfield entering the event tied. Weir's defeat of Winfield in the event
secured the team title.

Ravenswood powered into first behind a 2:01 anchor leg from Ben Miller. Winfield
had crossed in 2nd but was disqualified due to a uniform violation. Berkeley Springs
used a high 2:00 anchor leg from Luke Unger to pull into 2nd place. Philip
Barbour held 3rd. Independence and Magnolia battled to the finish behind strong anchor
legs from Derek Bishop (2:01) and Ryan Baxter (1:59) with Independence
holding on by 0.06. Grafton took the final place in the event.

Discus
Pre-meet favorite Rustyn Goff of Ritchie came throug with a winning toss of
149'7, just 5" further than Independence's Josh May. Liberty Raleigh Sophomore
Dominick Cangemi took 3rd with a 142'11 throw. Sissonville Sophomore Eric
Myers also topped 140' in taking 4th. Oak Glen's Kyle Hawkins was solidly
in 5th. Ritchie's Devin Wells rounded out the scoring.

Shuttle Hurdle Relay
Winfield was the only team that managed to run under 60 seconds. They took the win by almost
1.8 seconds. Philip Barbour took 2nd, just faster than Lincoln. Sissonville was slightly
faster than Keyser for 4th. Webster took the final place.

Long Jump
Point Pleasant's Travis Riffle leaped past the field by over 9" to take first.
Sissonville's Timmy DeBarr and Berkeley Springs' Brian Ness also topped 20'
in taking 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Logan's Kenneth Akers just missed 20' in taking
4th. Point Pleasant took a second spot in the event with James Ellis' 5th place
finish. Weir's Cameron Brown finished the scoring for the event.

High Jump
The big jumps that were anticipated didn't happen as Poca's Daniel Jarrell was the
only jumper to clear 6'2. Logan's Kenneth Akers, Winfield's Erik Schuller,
and Keyser's Tyrell Clay each cleared 6'0 in taking 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, respectively.
4 jumpers cleared 5'10. They were led by Berkeley Springs' Foster Sirbaugh and
Webster's Zach Crawford.

3200 Meter Run
The pack stayed pretty close together for 2 laps with at least 8 guys within 2 seconds. On
lap 3, Ravenswood's Andrew Benford and Winfield's Zach Noel had pulled out
to a 2 second lead. On lap 4, they were joined by Webster Freshman Skyler McCoy as
the lead group went through the mile in 4:48 (4:49 for McCoy). McCoy held on to Benford
and Noel through lap 6. Then on lap 7, Benford and Noel picked up the pace, going from a
1:14 lap to a 1:11 lap. McCoy trailed off to a 1:18 lap. On the final lap, Benford and
Noel battled hard starting at around 300 Meters to go. Sprinting down the homestretch,
the lead changed hands a couple times. With about 30 meters to go, Noel stumbled, and
Benford sped forward for the win in 9:30.47, just over a second faster than Noel's 9:31.58.
McCoy had just enough to hold off a big kick from Ravenswood's Ben Wise for 3rd.
Berkeley Springs' Luke Unger wasn't far behind in 5th. Weir's Stewart Jones
was also under 10:00 in finishing 6th.

Pole Vault
Only six vaulters cleared heights in a down year for Class AA Pole Vaulting. Winfield's
Jordan Kessler scored the win with his 12'6 vault. Roane's Shay Taylor and
Winfield Freshman Seth Kendall each cleared 12'0 in taking 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
Ravenswood Freshman Brandon Nutter topped 11'6 to take 4th. Ritchie's Chuck
Richards cleared 11'0 for 5th. Roane's Sam Ashley cleared 10'6 to take the
final spot.

400 Meter Dash
Ravenswood's Ben Miller ran away with the 400, winning by over 1.4 seconds. Weir's
Josh Webb was the fastest of five guys who ran in the 52's. Philip Barbour's
Jaron Freeman was close behind in 3rd. Shady Spring's Dustin Syvertson
snagged a 4th out of the first heat. He and Webb are Sophomores. Frankfort's Andrew
Buser beat Winfield's Charles Smith by less than 0.01 for 5th.

1600 Meter Run
Ravenswood's Andrew Benford took the lead late in the 2nd lap and continued to
extend that lead to the finish line, taking the title in 4:29.52. Winfield's Zach
Noel finished strong for 2nd. Berkeley Springs' Luke Unger continued his
outstanding weekend with a 3rd place finish. Weir's Stewart Jones was less than
2 seconds back in 4th. Ravenswood's Ben Wise scored a 5th, and Webster's
Skyler McCoy rounded out the scoring.

300 Meter Intermediate Hurdles
Lincoln's Eli Cottrill ran a season's best vy over a second in taking the surprise
win by just 0.06 over Ravenswood's Ross Ritchie. Ritchie was only 0.09 ahead of
Frankfort's Travis Corwell. Winfield's Drew Barnett was a very solid 4th.
Ritchie's Charlie French edged Ravenswood's Kirk Ritchie by 0.04 for 5th.

110 Meter High Hurdles
Winfield's Drew Barnett easily bested the field with his 15.28 clocking. Lincoln's
Eli Cottrill continued his stellar meet by taking 2nd by less than 0.01 over
Winfield Freshman Christian Powers. Sissonville's Timmy DeBarr edged out
Frankfort's Travis Corwell for 4th. Berkeley Springs' Paul Truitt took the
final place.

100 Meter Dash
Winfield's Wayne Pritt broke under the 11 second barrier in cruising to a surprisingly
easy victory in the 100. His 10.94 stands as the 3rd Best All-Time Class AA Performance
. The next three competitors crossed nearly simultaneously. The camera showed that
Chapmanville Freshman David Wiley won the tight battle over Point Pleasant's
Travis Riffle by less than 0.01 and over Wayne's Rodney Endicott by 0.01. Keyser's
Marcus Brown was close behind in 5th. Liberty Raleigh's Adam Ellis rounded
out the scoring.

Sissonville Sophomore Eric Myers took the event by over 2 1/2 feet with his toss of
53'4. Winfield's Tyler Hamilton also exceeded 50' on the day. Oak Glen's Kyle
Hawkins was over 3' behind Hamilton but nearly 2' ahead of Winfield Freshman Tyler
May. May was just 2 1/2" ahead of Point Pleasant's John Hipes. Winfield's
Brendan Langsdorf took 6th by less than 2".

Winfield ran away from the field with a margin of victory greater than 1 second. Keyser
edged Magnolia by 0.18 for 2nd. Lincoln was solidly in 4th. Ravenswood edged out Liberty

Winfield was dominant, taking the event by 0.75 seconds. Berkeley Springs was over

Ravenswood's Ben Miller took his second event of the day, crushing the field by
over two seconds in 1:57.84. Magnolia's Ryan Baxter held off a late charge by
Liberty Harrison's Josh Gray by 0.05 to take 2nd. Ravenswood's Andrew Benford
was well ahead of the remainder of the field for 4th. Winfield's Chris Schuler
edged Grafton's T.J. Abel by 0.03 for 5th.

Just as in the 100, Winfield's Wayne Pritt finished well out front in 22.60. Point
Pleasant's Travis Riffle was solidly in 2nd, with Wayne's Rodney Endicott
an easy 3rd. Weir's Josh Webb was easily in 4th with Liberty Harrison's Keith
Frazier solidly in 5th. Oak Glen's Drake Compton took the final scoring spot
in an event that had no close finishes.

Ravenswood used a strong anchor leg from Ben Miller to take first by less than a
second over Winfield. Weir edged out Philip Barbour for 3rd. Frankfort edged out
